The district of Mirzapur lies between 24°34' and 25°16' north latitudes and 82°05' and 83°11' east longitudes. Mirzapur was the largest district in Uttar Pradesh, India but on 1st April 1989, a new district name Sonbhadra has been carved out from it.

Mirzapur and Sonbhadra is also the icon of the historical significances of India.
