The district of Mirzapur lies between 24°34' and 25°16' north latitudes and 82°05' and 83°11' east longitudes. Mirzapur was the largest district in Uttar Pradesh, India but on 1st April 1989, a new district name Sonbhadra has been carved out from it.

Mirzapur and Sonbhadra is also the icon of the historical significances of India. Except it the Mirzapur have lot of natural treasure like waterfall, lake, cave, jungle, and also the evidences of the civilization. These districts are full of tradition, culture, stories, and festival with more than hundred of medicinal herbs with a rich wild life. Now the Mirzapur and Sonbhadra are jointly named as the Vindhyachal Division.
